Chicago Wedding Limo Timing
This is the working wedding limo timing guide we use internally at Royal Carriage. The numbers are current to 2026; the venues are real Chicago locations; the timing is what we actually see happen on Friday and Saturday nights across our fleet. Bookmark this before you book.

How Far Ahead to Book
For peak-season Chicago weddings (May, June, September, October), the bridal-party vehicle books 6-9 months out. The guest shuttle and the getaway car can usually book 60-90 days out without losing options. Off-season (December-March) weddings have 30-day lead times.
The wedding limo and stretch limousine flows return real-time availability — if the date is open, the quote comes back same-day.
Ceremony-Day Timeline Hour by Hour
Standard wedding-day timeline for the bridal-party vehicle: pickup at the hotel 90 minutes before ceremony start, arrive at ceremony venue 45 minutes before guests, wait through the ceremony at the venue, recessional exit, photo stops (30-45 minutes), arrive at reception 15-30 minutes before cocktail hour.
For the Mercedes Sprinter or fleet, the entire timeline is the booking — no need to call between segments. The driver coordinates with the wedding planner directly.
Guest Shuttle Windows
Guest shuttle windows: 90 minutes before ceremony (loading at hotel block, drop at venue) and 90-120 minutes after reception ends (loading at venue, drop at hotel block). The middle of the wedding day, the shuttle vehicle is idle — many planners release it during this window to save 3-4 hours of cost.
The stretch limousine or Mercedes Sprinter runs the standard shuttle. Most weddings need 2-3 round trips on each end of the night.
Ready to lock the date? book online in 60 seconds or browse the fleet. Most quotes come back in under a minute.
“We needed three vehicles for our Drake Hotel wedding — Rolls Royce, stretch limo, and a Sprinter for guests. Every driver was 20 minutes early.”

After-Reception Getaway Car
For an after-reception getaway car (the bride and groom leaving the reception), the vehicle is typically a Bentley, Rolls-Royce, vintage Rolls, or classic stretch. Pickup window is 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM. The driver waits at the venue from 30 minutes before the planned exit through the actual exit.
The fleet or book online in 60 seconds can be booked for the getaway segment. For an iconic photo exit, the Phantom or Mulsanne is the high-end choice.
Common Timing Mistakes
Three common wedding-day timing mistakes: (1) booking the bridal-party vehicle for the wrong end-time and racking up overage hours, (2) underestimating photo-stop time (each stop is 20-30 minutes including reposition), (3) trying to use the bridal-party vehicle as the guest shuttle.
Royal Carriage’s wedding-planner team checks the timeline before booking lock-in. The wedding limo and stretch limousine are quoted with the right hour-window for the date and venue mix.
Wedding-Day Booking Checklist

The request a custom quote flow handles all 7 steps. For phone bookings, call (224) 801-3090 and we’ll walk through them. The wedding limo flow is the same.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I book a wedding limo?
For Saturdays in May, June, September and October — book 60-90 days out. For Friday corporate runs — 1-2 weeks is usually fine. For airport runs — 24-48 hours is the practical minimum during peak season.
Is the price flat or hourly?
Airport runs are almost always flat rate. Event work (weddings, proms, nights out) is hourly with a 3-hour minimum on weekend evenings.
What’s included in the price?
Base rate + standard tolls. Gratuity (15-20%) is typically added separately, as is event parking. Bottled water is standard in every Royal Carriage vehicle.
What if my plans change?
Free cancellation 24 hours out for most events. Inside 24 hours on a wedding or event date typically forfeits the deposit. Airport runs are more flexible.
